Hiking

Every Sunday, in collaboration with the Mountaineering Club of Western Messinia, we organize a hike through the villages of Western Mani, from Kardamyli towards Mount Taigetos. The route begins at the village’s central square and follows the path of the ancient “royal road” that connected Kardamyli with Sparta. The trail winds through olive trees, pines, and cypresses. Byzantine churches, stone towers, old fountains, olive presses, and flour mills reveal the life of the locals in the past. At the end of the hike, Mount Taigetos rises proudly with its majestic peaks.
