Many parents believe that their job ends the moment they drop their child off at the therapy center. The truth, however, is different: That is exactly when the most important part begins.
Think about this: A session lasts 45 minutes, once, twice, or three times a week. During all the other hours and days, your child is with you.
You are the "co-therapists" of everyday life.
Our goal at Theraplay Larissa is not for the child to speak or behave correctly only inside our therapy room. The goal is for them to do it at home, at school, and on the playground. In therapy, this is called generalization, and it can only be achieved with your help.
When the family collaborates with the therapy team:
- Seeing parents and therapists working hand-in-hand, the child understands that there is a safety net and shared goals.
You don’t need to become therapists. You simply need to be informed, follow our guidance, and integrate small changes into your routine.
We have the method, but you have the child’s heart.
Together, we are unstoppable.
