The story begins with the initial decision—the moment I looked in the mirror or felt the lack of energy and decided that enough was enough. That was the hardest moment of all.
- Before: I would describe how I felt: heavy, tired, insecure. Clothes felt uncomfortable, and simple activities—like climbing the stairs—were exhausting.
- The First Step: My first visit to the gym was filled with anxiety and awkwardness. Everyone seemed to know exactly what they were doing, while I struggled with the treadmill and the weights. I still remember the muscle soreness of those first days—a “sweet” kind of pain that meant something was changing.
- The Challenges: There were days when I wanted to quit. Days when the weather was bad, work was exhausting, and the bed seemed far more appealing than the weights. I would also talk about the challenge of changing my nutrition, which proved just as difficult as the training itself
- The Turning Point: The moment I stopped exercising out of obligation and started doing it for enjoyment. When I noticed I could run a little longer, lift a little heavier, or fasten an old pair of trousers comfortably again. These small wins became the fuel that kept me going.
- My Relationship with the Gym: From a place of fear, it became a refuge. A space where I could clear my mind and focus on the strength of my body.
