One of the most important distinctions of our club was the one in Bern last April. 188 male and female chess players participated in rapid (fast chess) and 126 in blitz (very fast chess).

• In rapid, the Greek champion was our club's chess player Elena K., second was Anastasia A. and third was Yolanda K.
• Angelos S. was crowned Greek Champion, Dimitrios L. was second, and Theodoros T. was third.
• In the blitz, Sotiris M. was crowned Greek Champion, with Antonis P. in second place and Nikos G. in third place. 
• Champion Anastasia Th., second Anna-Maria D. and third Georgia-Anna R.

The awards were made by the president of the Pefki Chess Club, Mr. Bakou Paraskevi, and the sponsor of the cups, Mr. Angelos Petlis.
