Vision

The vision of the Chess Club Roua Mat is to develop the sport of chess through the individual improvement of its athletes and members. Individual improvement includes the cultivation of the sporting ideal and noble competition, team spirit and strong relationships - friendships among its members.

Mission

The mission of the Chess Club Roua Mat is shaped around the promotion of chess as a sport and intellectual exercise, as well as supporting its members in improving their skills. It includes:

• the spread of chess in Thessaloniki, among all ages and at all levels
• quality entertainment for athletes
• the development of a sportsmanship spirit
• the inclusion and retention of children and adults into the sport
• the best use of athletes' free time and therefore the improvement of their quality of life
• the participation of all athletes in common events, both athletic and social
• the development of cooperation, teamwork and friendship between athletes.

Goals

The goals of the Roua Mat Chess Club are:

• Training and improvement: Our goal is to help members develop their chess skills, whether they are beginners or more advanced. This can be done through lessons, seminars, and practice matches.
• Socialization and community: Creating an environment where chess athletes can meet, share their knowledge and collaborate to improve their level, while building friendships and partnerships.
• Evolution of chess in local society: The purpose may be to popularize chess as an intellectual sport and attract new players, especially young people and students, in order to broaden the base of the sport.

• Internatonal Success: For our club, the development of athletes who will compete at an international level, such as in World or European championships, is an important goal.
