Subject – Purpose of the PMS The Postgraduate
Program (PMS) entitled «Child Psychology» is a full-time study program lasting 2 academic years that leads to the specialization of students in the field of child psychology. The P.MS is hosted in the Department of Analytical Psychology of the University of Chalkidiki. The P.MS admits for the academic year 2022-2023, 35 students.

The graduates of P.MS. develop skills for generating new ideas and managing research. They also learn to respect the rules of ethics of the profession of psychologist and teacher at the same time and to develop professional, social and moral responsibility. In particular, the P.M.S. in Child Psychology is addressed to both professional psychologists and teachers of Primary and Secondary Education, aiming at:

  1. in specialized and in-depth knowledge of the basic theoretical principles of Child Psychology
  2. in the acquisition of applied skills and research methods of various phenomena related to Child Psychology.

Postgraduate degree
The Program awards a Postgraduate Specialization Diploma (M.D.E.) «Child Psychology».

Scoring system
The grade point average with which the performance scores of postgraduate students are calculated is ten-point (0-10):

  • Excellent: 8.50 – 10.00
  • Very Good: 6.50 – 8.49
  • Welcome: 6.00 – 6.49
  • Unsuccessful: 0.00 – 5.99
Official duration of the program
The time period for the award of the Board of Directors is set at four (4) semesters. The maximum allowed time for completion of studies is set at six (6) semesters. Courses start at the beginning of October each year.

4 SEMESTERS , 120 ECTS

A full academic year is equivalent to 60 ECTS credits and a full semester to 30 ECTS .

Curriculum
Classes are delivered on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings in the amphitheater of the Department of Analytical Psychology and by means of distance education. 1st Semester

  • The psychology of the child in Preschool Age
  • Sociology
  • Developmental Neuropsychology
2nd Semester
  • School psychology
  • Applied Cognitive
  • Learning difficulties
  • Evaluation of mental functions of Children and Adolescents
In the next 2 semesters the diploma thesis is done.

Tuition fees
Tuition fees amount to 2,750 euros per year.

Scholarships
Two scholarships of 2,000 euros are given to the first two students with the highest final grade in each admission series.

Registration conditions
Graduates of all HEIs and TEIs of the country are admitted to the P.M.S. after evaluation.

Application Procedure
The application is submitted electronically to the program e-mail twice each year, July and September.

Candidate Evaluation Procedure
The candidate evaluation process is done in three phases:

First Phase: The program committee evaluates the applications and selects the candidates for an interview.

Phase Two: The candidates who qualified in this phase are interviewed by the members of the program committee

Phase Three: The committee meets and decides on the candidates who will participate in the program.

First cycle of Application Academic Year 2022-2023
The Postgraduate Program «Child Psychology» announces the beginning of the first cycle of applications for the participation of those interested in the academic year 2022-2023.

Applications will be submitted until Thursday, July 28, 2022 or until the maximum number of admitted postgraduate students of the Academic Year is covered.
