Kavala Daily Cruise

Kavala from the Sea: Castles, BBQ and Hidden Bays

Our day begins at 11:00 AM, every Friday and Sunday, at the port of Kavala, where we welcome you on board for a day out on the water. As the boat pulls away from the pier, the city’s hustle fades into the calm of the Aegean. You will find fresh coffee and seasonal fruits waiting for you on deck as we head west, following the sunny coastline.

Our first stop, around 11:45, is the pretty village of Nea Iraklitsa. We will dock for one hour, giving you plenty of time to walk along the waterfront or check out the local shops. We definitely recommend the short walk up to the little white chapel of Agia Marina, the views over the bay are amazing and it’s the best spot for your first photos of the day.

We then keep going to find some of the coast’s more quiet, “secret” spots. Around 13:30, we reach Fidonisi,a tiny island that feels like a world of its own since it’s only accessible by sea. We will spend 45 minutes here, where you can jump in for your first swim in crystal-clear water, enjoying the peace and quiet of this untouched spot.

The trip continues at 14:15 at the sheltered bay of Psatha. The water here is almost always calm, so for the next 45 minutes, it’s the perfect time to grab our SUP boards and enjoy the freedom of paddling on the calm water. After that, at 15:00, we make a one-hour stop at the famous Ammolofoi beach. With its golden sand and turquoise water, it feels like you’ve been transported to the tropics.

At 16:00, we arrive at the stunning Cavo Vrasidas, where we’ll anchor for two full hours. The water here is unbelievable, a deep emerald green that you have to see to believe. It’s the perfect place to grab our snorkeling equipment and explore the rocky bottom and the sea life around the rocks, or just enjoy a swim in these amazing waters. While you’re swimming, you’ll start to smell the BBQ being cooked right on the boat! Our crew will prepare a full lunch with grilled meats, fresh salads, and appetizers, with plenty of wine, cold beers, and soft drinks to go around.

As we start heading back, we make a one-hour stop at 18:30 in Nea Peramos to visit the historic Castle of Anaktoroupolis. This place is a mix of great history and great views, walking along the old walls gives you a fantastic look at the whole coastline from above.

The return to Kavala, around 20:15, is the best part of the trip. We’ll pull up near the Panagia (old town) peninsula to enjoy the sunset from the water. Watching the golden light hit the Old Town and the Castle is the perfect way to end a day full of sun, salt, and good memories.

A few things to keep in mind: To make sure you have a great time, we suggest bringing comfortable shoes for the Castle walk, your sunscreen for the sunny hours on deck, and a light jacket for the way back. Most importantly, just bring your best mood and let us handle the rest!
